The girls’ track season is underway and off to a big start. The two biggest competitors for the Lions are Alana Enabnit ’11 and Rea Faber ’11. Both girls began their seasons at the UNI State Indoor Meet. Enabnit took first in the 3000 meter and third in the 1500 meter.
“This meet always gets me excited for the rest of the season,” said Enabnit who had a good reason to be excited after breaking a twenty-three year record at the home meet on April 5. Enabnit ran 10 minute 16 seconds 3000 meter, surpassing the previous record by twenty seconds. The distance runner was also only tenth of a second off in the 1500 meter. Faber also placed first in the long jump.
